this is an official reissue of what am i gonna do for fun by the band pitch (1982 - new york city). this release also includes a fantastic remix or rework by tolouse low trax (toresch, salon des amateurs, düsseldorf). a few words from stuart shape, the producer: feels like it was done by another person. i remember getting the serge synthetiser to stay in tune was always a problem. we were fascinated with the new sampling that were just coming out, and kind of got carried away on the vocals. not sure what i was thinking about with the lyrics, guess maybe trying to figure out what i was supposed to be doing when i wasnt working or playing music unfortunately no other finished tracks from that era have survived. they recorded a lot, but finished and saved very little.

we thought long about this selection, until we reached what we wanted: a collection of timeless and immersive landscapes, modeled by alan backdrop (prologue), artefakt (delsin), ben gibson (axis) and tripsolate & redundaent (nowhere).
the artwork, curated by hillary flanders, is inspired by the nietzsche’s idea of -the overman- (ubermensch), which is one of the most significant concept in his thinking: an overman should be able to affect history indefinitely, keeping on reentering the world through other people’s minds and affect their thoughts and values.
the release aims to be a must have for the lovers of techno music characterized by refined aesthetics and analog warmth, ideal to give added value to autumn moments.

for over five years, all day i dream has been where deep and emotive meet house music. propelled by a community of forward thinking artists drawn around the scion of master curator and sunset/sunrise set specialist, lee burridge. all day i dream formally welcomes lost desert to the label with the release of lingala, a two-track collaborative effort with burridge himself, that also features junior on vocals. lost desert was picked out of obscurity after burridge discovered his music while trekking in a remote area of a long lost land. a fast forged friendship inevitably lead to the studio, and lingala’s the enrapturing sophomore result. the duo’s first project together debuted on lee’s night time imprint, get weird, earlier this year to widespread support. lingala, is a beautifully composed ten-minute sonic journey. built around a mystical lead vocal sung by newcomer junior in his native linagles the raw emotion slowly builds in intensity over propulsive basslines and deep melodic grooves . gorje hewek & izhevski’s interpretation of lingala is a markedly different affair. focussing on musical layers rather than the vocal the duo’s signature spacey atmospheres and minimal rhythmic percussion add extra strings creating uplifting moments that contrast the original’s mood.

four never before released or publicly available demo cuts from the writing sessions of craig peyton and jolyon skinner circa 1983-1985. the duo produced and wrote hits for artists in between working on their own projects. these songs survived the past 30 years on a cassette tape, which was lovingly transferred for this exclusive to peyton records release. after their short but fruitful collaborative period, peyton went on as a writer and band leader and skinner went on to have a career as a songwriter for pop acts such as joe, nsync, and freddie jackson. in the words of craig peyton: “jolyon skinner and i met in the early ’80s through our mutual friend keith diamond (the trinidadian producer of hits such as “caribbean queen” by billy ocean). after we met, jolyon and i started regular writing sessions at my nyc p-factor studio. our first break came in 1983 with howard johnson’s “let this dream be real-. that was followed up with “love of a lifetime” by melba moore and “where ya gonna be tonight” for will collins. after this we were offered a recording deal by april blackwood music, but due to my contract with profile records at the time we couldn’t accept it. shortly after skinner got signed to zomba and we stopped writing together around 1985.

yes, we re back at it again with more eddie amador. after the success of house music and rise, we decided to diversify and go for a double a sided remix package with two distinctly different remixers. so please welcome ardalan and cj jeff to the yoshitoshi family! given ardalans propensity for booty basslines and infectious grooves, psycho x girlfriend seemed like the appropriate choice for the dirtybird affiliate. he flipped the tracked on its head by pumping it full of sub 100 hz frequencies, mental sound effects, and even a pinch of acid. the remix again shows this young gun s talent for creating bona fide bangers that keep the spirit of house alive. greek house don cj jeff took on 6am, the groovy and oft-overlooked 2006 wee hours anthem from amador. his remix bears a massive 808 kick that floors the mix (no pun intended) into overdrive. his simple, catchy melodies capture the classic yoshitoshi vibe beautifully.
